A founding principal at Development Initiatives, Jim's real estate background is quite varied, having ranged from environmental due diligence and reporting to community redevelopment initiatives to the planning and development of specific real estate projects. Drawing on his considerable project management experience, he has coordinated and helped implement a number of urban renewal and tax increment financing projects while working at the City of Kansas City Missouri's Economic Development Corporation (EDC). He has authored numerous economic development reports ranging from market and blight studies in support of public sector redevelopment initiatives to detailed economic feasibility analyses for private sector development groups.
Jim's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Management from the University of Kansas, as well as a B.G.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Kansas and a B.S. in Geography from the University of Kansas. He also holds an AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) designation from the American Planning Association (APA).
A founding partner at Development Initiatives, Chris Sally specializes in the analytic and creative functions of real estate development. From financial analysis and cost benefit impact analysis to providing owners representation services on complex urban development projects, he provides tangible value for his clients.
He has worked with many municipalities to implement master plans, before they become obsolete, by identifying opportunities (underutilized properties) and assisting property owners and developers in the development process
Chris has seen all aspects of real estate development. First as the former Downtown Development Director for the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, he worked on over 2 billion dollars in projects to help revitalize downtown Kansas City. He knows firsthand how to attract investment and jobs to an underperforming market.
Chris' educational background includes a B.A Real Estate Finance from the University of Arizona. He also holds an CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Members designation.
